In the year 2000, I went overseas with my Mum and my Grandmother. I was only 14 months old so really remember almost nothing about the time I was overseas, but I have pictures and my Mum and Nana often tell me stories about what happened when I was there. I will share with you some of the funny stories that happened to me.
All in all I flew on an aeroplane 8 times in one month. We flew from Cape Town to Johannesburg in South Africa, from Johannesburg to Cairo, Egypt on Egypt Air, stayed in Cairo for a few days, then from Cairo to London, where we stayed with my Great Aunty Carole for a week, from London to Malta on Malta Air, we stayed in Malta for 2 weeks, from Malta back to London, where we stayed with Aunty Carole for another week, from London back to Cairo, we stayed overnight again in Cairo, from Cairo to Johannesburg & then from Johannesburg back to Cape Town.
I took my first walking steps while I was in London.
My favorite places was feeding the pigeons in Trafalgar Square in London and the pyramids of Giza in Egypt (I am told that I did not want to leave the pyramids and enjoyed playing in the desert sand).
When we were in Malta, I was swimming in my swimming tube in the kiddy pool where we stayed. The other children quickly left the kiddy pool when I made a mistake in the pool. The adults laughed so much while my aunt tried to scoop up all the floaties. Well, that is one way of getting a swimming pool to yourself.
We were at Bugibba Square in Malta having dinner at a sidewalk cafe. I met a little Maltese girl whose name is Pamela. Somehow my shorts came undone and so I took them off. Little Pamela, who is about the same age as me, noticed the disposable nappy I was wearing and quickly pulled up her dress to show me that she was wearing the same kind of nappy. All the adults had a good laugh. My Nana said that it would be a brilliant idea for advertising diapers.
